As you can tell from the title, I am a big fan of WordPress. If WordPress was a woman I would smother it with hugs and kisses.
Ok, maybe I don’t love it that much!
But it really is great, especially for people with little or no prior development experience.
But why is WordPress so great I hear you ask?
Well, here is my rundown of 5 killer reasons you would have to be a complete fool to dismiss WordPress as your content platform.
1 – Free WordPress Themes – Normally, free themes suck ass! They look like they have been coded whilst the designer had an epileptic fit, but there are actually a lot of really good WordPress themes out there, and best of all, they are free.
Try Theme Viewer & WordPress Themes for the best selection of free WordPress themes.
2 – User Friendly – Not all of us sit in our mom’s basement coding websites all day. Some of us have more important things to do… like playing Xbox360. Luckily, WordPress is pretty damn user friendly. It is by no means perfect, but if you know how to use Microsoft Word, then you will be able to publish your stuff via WordPress.
3 – Cos everyone else uses it – Following the majority is not always a good thing, especially if that crowd are Nazis and the year is 1939. But the fact that the majority of bloggers choose WordPress, says a lot.
4 – Plugins – My single fav thing about WordPress is the plugins. You can get a plugin for just about anything, and there is a great collection at: WordPress Plugin Database
5 – Integration – Put your hand in the air if you have absolutely no interest in adding video or audio to your blog? If your hand is in the air, you are an idiot, and should go away and never come back!
Being able to put videos in your blog post will make you one of the cool kids. You will be seen as a technological superstar, and nerds will dance around your garden in delight. WordPress makes all of this as simple as A to B. In this case, A is a Youtube video of a monkey sniffing his ass, and B is your blog.
There we have it. 5 reasons you would be loco not to use WordPress.
PS: WordPress, WordPress.

I felt the same way as you do, and then i installed and used Drupal. I now feel after a slight learning curve of using Drupal that it is much more feature rich, has just as much community theme support, and is all around a nicer server side Content Management System.
