Is Google Using Viagra?

Posted on 02. Mar, 2007 by in SEO

I was just doing some… er… research at Yahoo.co.uk for the search phrase “buy Viagra“, and amazingly Google is ranking in 5th place on Yahoo for the search term “Buy Viagra“. Just when you thought getting a top 5 position was HARD enough, it is fair to say the STIFF competition for this term is always GROWING. ;-)

Enough of my crappy puns… here is the proof:

yahoo serps

But, even funnier, is this spoof Google page for the search term “French military victories”.

Yahoo probably picked up on the redirect notices Google recently implemented:
    http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2007/02/google-redirect-notice.html
and followed the 302 status code redirect url that Google publishes on these interstitial pages.
I think Yahoo fixed it, I am unable to repeat the search…
