DIY Internet Business Education

These days it seems you have x ways of learning a skill:
1) College/University
2) Getting a job/apprenticeship
3) Reading forums
4) Reading ebooks/learing from gurus
5) Dive straight in
I am sure you are familiar with the first 4, but by “dive straight in”, I mean that you should just try and do the task, and learn from your mistakes. In my opinion, this is the most powerful learning technique.
I once read a quote that said “The most successful man is the man that made the most mistakes”. I don’t know who said it, but it is spot on!
I am not discounting the other learning methods, but if you get a chance of learning a skill by doing it, then give it a go.
Another advantage of this method is that you get to see the real truth about a subject. For example, many gurus will still heavily promote products that they have NEVER even seen. I was reminded of this fact by these two great quotes:
“I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my
body. Then I realized who was telling me this.”
– Emo Phillips
Renning’s Maxim:
“Man is the highest animal. Man does the classifying.”
If someone has a perceived guru status, they can get away with telling you certain things, and nobody will challenge them. The best way to find something out is to DO IT. If you copy the gurus word for word you will always be second best.
